Recently, I turned 20.
To me, saying "I'm in my twenties" makes me feel rather old (cue all of my older friend's scoffs).
Now, please note...I'm not all about that goal-setting/bucket-list writing lyf but I thought it would be nice to compile a list of some (mostly) fun things to try my hand at in the next (almost) 10 years!
P.s. This is totally not a binding contract or promise to myself or anyone else. It's totally cool if things change.
1. Get a pet of my own. I'm currently living at home and we have 2 family dogs, however, I would love to find my own lil friend at some stage (maybe just a fish though because tbh I can't even remember to feed myself sometimes).
2. Perfect latte art. One of the many things my big brother's good at, is making coffee with the most exquisite patterns. Whenever I try to pour out a mere heart with that fluffy milk, it ends up looking more like a melting, slightly obese snowman.
3. Do at least 1 more AMEB exam. I play a few instruments and have done since the age of 5, however, without the motivation of exams, the only musical sound coming out of my room is the not-so-lovely sing along to Dear Evan Hansen or Dodie...
4. Buy a new car. I recently got myself a 3rd hand Corolla named Sacha but I really don't know if she'll make it to 30.
5. Increase assets. BORINNNNGGG. I guess # 4 and 5 go hand-in-hand
6. Go to Melbourne. As a self-confessed shopaholic/coffee lover, Melbourne really sounds like my kinda place. I'm already on the way to achieving this one as a flight has been purchased for a trip in December!! (YAY)
7. Climb Walsh's pyramid. I'm really not the fittest person around but why not give it a go? I do love a good bush walk.
8. Move out of home. Maybe at 29? :P
9. Go overseas. I have ALWAYS wanted to travel. Being out of the state even twice has given me the travel-bug...let alone another COUNTRY!?
10. Sew something that isn't a scrunchie. I'm sure it's not that hard ?
11. Clear up my skin. Turning 20, unfortunately didn't mean waking up with beautifully clear skin. Maybe my teenagery pores can't read a calendar.
12. Write a song and do something with it. Or like actually finish one of the half-written ones.
13. Go to a drive-in movie. Keen.
14. Read an entire novel. Sounds easy, but my days of reading a novel in a night are well and truly diminished as my attention span is shorter and eyes are tireder.
15. Ride in a hot air balloon. Lame ... I know.
16. Buy a nice camera or a phone with a nice camera. The latter sounds a little cheaper.
17. Get better at cooking dinners. I love to bake but seasoning is just too hard ok!?
18. Grow my own herb garden. It might even motivate me to cook dinner more!
19. Learn to like beer. So I can "crack a cold one with da bois". Jks
20. Go to a ballet class. I forever will tease my parents about the deprived childhood I had that was lacking in pirouettes and pointe shoes.
21. Finish knitting that gosh-darn scarf! No-one warned me that it would take so long!
22. Donate blood. If you can, you should to!
23. Learn how to budget. I need the funds for my plane tickets and nice camera/phone!
24. Travel somewhere by myself. Yay for introverted personalities.
25. Go to a rooftop bar. Oh hey, Melbs!
26. See a live concert. I've already seen Kate Miller-Heidke and Passenger live but I'm keen as a bean to one day see some of T-Swizzle's stage magic.
27. Graduate from some sort of higher education. I currently have 2/3rds of a Bacherlor in nursing science yet my brother's mortarboard is getting rather dusty in my cupboard.
28. Go to a high tea. Any excuse to dress-up and play ladies!
29. Learn more about sport. I kinda despise team sports but I think I should probably understand the story behind my new favourite catch phrase: "niiiiice Garry".
30. Turn 30. Dream big, grasshopper.
I'll update you at 25.
